Biography

Dr. Andrea Eugenio Cavanna, MD, PhD, is Consultant in Behavioural Neurology at the Department of Neuropsychiatry, Birmingham, Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Neurology, University College London, United Kingdom. He currently is leading consultant for the Tourette syndrome clinic at the Department of Neuropsychiatry, and deputy director of the MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry, University of Birmingham. He has published extensively in the field of behavioural neurology and neuropsychiatry, with special focus on the behavioural aspects of Tourette syndrome and epilepsy. His other research areas include the neural correlates of altered conscious states across neuropsychiatric conditions. In 2010 he received the American Neuropsychiatric Association Career Development Award.

Research Interest
