Abstract
Adenomyosis in a Müllerian Remnant
The objective of this article is to report a rare müllerian anomaly and adenomyosis in the müllerian remnant in a patient with MRKH. A 28-year-old single female with primary amenorrhea and intermittent abdominal pain had been diagnosed with a right müllerian remnant that is associated with a cavity and functional endometrium causing hematometra with pain. Adenomyosis is caused by hematometra. The left müllerian duct was not developed. She had laparoscopy and right unilateral rudimentary uterus was found and resected. Adenomyosis in the müllerian remnant was described histologically. This is an unusual müllerian anomaly, since complete unilateral agenesis of one müllerian duct is often associated with ipsilateral renal agenesis but the patient had two normal kidneys. Unicornuate uterus is associated with normal vagina that was not found in the present case.
