Sarcoidosis of the Cervix: An Unusual Case Presentation
Sarcoidosis of the Cervix: An Unusual Case Presentation
Sarcoidosis of the cervix is a rare finding. Here we present a case of non-caseating granulomas found on LEEP specimen.
Case: A 28 years old woman diagnosed one year ago with sarcoidosis was referred for colposcopy secondary to a LSIL PAP test. Colposcopy-directed cervical biopsies showed cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 1 and 2 on final pathology. Patient underwent a loop electrosurgical excision procedure and pathologic specimen showed non-caseating granulomas at the squamo-columnar junction and foci of mild squamous dysplasia. All fungal and acidfast stains were negative.
