Rosai-Dorfman Disease of the Orbit – Review of a Case and Review of Literature
Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD)/sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy is a benign cellular proliferation of histiocytes and lymphocytes, often presenting as painless cervical lymphadenopathy. We present a rare case of orbital involvement by Rosai-Dorfman disease. A female with worsening vision and a lump in the cheek was initially diagnosed as "inflammatory pseudotumor". However, subsequent orbital apex and periorbital mass biopsy showed involvement by Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD).
