Retinal Examination for the Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease
We examined 20 patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). In the patients in whom we found hyper or hypo fluorescent lesions on fundus auto fluorescence (FAF), optical scanning tomography (OCT) was performed through these regions to reveal depositions in the retina. Drusen like spots- dots were noticed in different parts of the retina. 10 randomly chosen patients and 10 age-matched healthy controls were given curcumin to check for the changes in FAF and OCT.
