Postpartum Depression Affects One in 10 Women and One of the Causes is the Lack of Social Awareness
Postpartum depression is one of the most common complications of motherhood, but it is estimated that in 50% of cases it is not diagnosed correctly. In addition, scientific studies suggest that there are still more women who suffer from postpartum anxiety than women who suffer from postpartum depression, but the lack of diagnosis prevents these data from appearing as official figures. Affecting 17% of women and especially new mothers, postpartum anxiety can present in a variety of forms, from generalized anxiety disorder to obsessive-compulsive disorder to even panic attacks and post-traumatic stress.
