Influence of Melathion on VAM colonization and Phosphorus Content in Chilli Plants
The objective of the present study, is to investigate the effect of Malathion on VAM colonization and phosphorus uptake in Capsicum annuum Linn. plants. Recommended dose of Malathion increased root colonization while double dose of inhibited growth. Higher doses of Malathion effected the VAM fungal colonization in chilli plants. VAM colonization indirectly affected phosphorus uptake in chilli plants. Double dose of Malathion decreased Phosphorus content in plants whereas single dose of malathion did not effect phosphorus uptake.
