Hydrogeology of the Superficial Groundwater of the Koular Watershed and the Risk of Salt Wedge Intrusion
The hydrogeological study of the Koular surficial groundwater shows an average depth of the static level equal to 10 m in the zone. This facilitates access to and exploitation of groundwater, which is increasing with the increase in population, thus leading to an increase in the depth of the groundwater. This favors the rupture of the freshwater-salt water interface, hence the saline-water invasion.
