Dealing with an Abnormal Pap Test: Latinas’ Views

There is a disproportionate burden of cervical cancer among Latinas in the United States, compared to non-Latino white (NLW) women. At least some of this discrepancy may be attributed to both low screening rates and poor adherence to recommended diagnostic follow-up after an abnormal Pap test. The purpose of this study was to assess knowledge, attitudes, barriers and facilitators of follow-up care, after an abnormal Pap test result in rural Latinas.
