A Review of Radiologic Imaging in Patients with Androgen Insensitivity
Androgen insensitivity (AIS) is a disorder of sex development that results from mutations in the androgen receptor. In complete AIS, patients are genetically XY, but phenotypically female and frequently present with primary amenorrhea in the teenage years. In partial AIS, patients are also genetically XY, but the phenotype varies based on the amount of activity of the androgen receptor and commonly present with ambiguous genitalia.
