About Enzyme Catalysis

Enzymes catalysis is the increase the rate of reaction of a biological or chemical reaction by the active site of the protein which is involved in the particular reaction. In every chemical reaction both the enzymes and chemical catalysts affect the rate but not the equilibrium constant. Both the catalysts enzymes and chemical will increase the rate of reaction in both directions, forward and reverse. The principle of catalysis follows that catalysts can’t change the equilibrium of reaction.
