About Aging and Sleep
Along with the changes that occur physically as we get old, similarly changes to our sleep patterns occurs which are consequences in the normal aging process. As we get older our sleep patterns changes including disturbed sleep, waking up tired every morning.
Older people find that aging causes them to have hard time to initiate sleep or fall asleep & they spend less time in deep sleep. Insomnia is the most common sleep problem which older people suffer. Some elder people experiences psychiatric disorders & physiological problems which will affect the quantity & quality of Sleep.
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, and REM behavior disorder, may be associated with aging in some cases.
