Abstract
Mangrove Ecosystem Recovery and Restoration from Oil Spill in the Niger Delta: The GIS Perspective
The study evaluated the changes in the land cover of the mangrove ecosystem in Niger Delta from 1986 to 2008. It also assessed the time-frame required for mangrove vegetation in the study sites to recover from oil spill impact with a view to developing a GIS-based model for mangrove vegetation recovery in the Niger Delta. The study integrated both primary and secondary data sources.
